As a corresponding author, you may be eligible for financial support for your APC!

Acta Acustica is now listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals. This is a requirement in several countries to fund the APC of articles published in purely open access journals.

Depending on the affiliation country, the author may take advantage of National or Local support for publication. In addition, the EAA may support authors belonging to National Societies.

Are you affiliated with the CNRS?

EDP Sciences and the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in France) have signed an open access agreement, which enables corresponding authors affiliated with the CNRS to publish in Acta Acustica in open access free of charge. The list of participating CNRS institutes is available there (PDF). If you are a corresponding author affiliated with one of these institutes, please indicate this at the time your article is accepted and transmitted to production.

Is your academic institution located in Germany?

EDP Sciences has signed with the Technische Informationsbibliothek (TIB) a German National APC agreement. If you are a corresponding author affiliated with German academic institutions including universities and research institutions, you are eligible for a 20% discount on APCs. Please indicate this at the time your article is accepted and transmitted to production.

Are you affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences?

EDP Sciences has signed an APC agreement with the NSLC (National Science Library CAS) the research library service system for the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). If you are a corresponding author affiliated with one of the eligible CAS institutes, you are eligible for a 20% discount on APCs. Please indicate this at the time your article is accepted and transmitted to production.

Eligibility for EAA support

If the corresponding author is member, for more than 2 years, of one of the National Societies of the European Acoustics Association https://euracoustics.org/eaa-societies/member-societies, you may be eligible for full or partial support of the APC by the EAA, according to the scheme shown below.

Please note that EAA membership does not automatically grant the right to full or partial funding by the EAA. Please ensure that you provide sufficient details to document your situation in the application form. The decision to fund partially or fully the APC of EAA members is at the discretion of the EAA. Full funding can only be granted by the EAA on an exceptional basis. Payment of the APC is ultimately the responsibility of the author.

*Short communications are scientific articles of length less than 4 typeset pages. Articles of more than 4 typeset pages will be invoiced at the rate of regular articles.

Procedure to request EAA support

If you intend to request EAA support for the payment of the APC, we recommend that you check with your National Society that you are eligible for funding prior to submitting your article. After acceptance:

  1. The corresponding author: - Downloads and fills the application form. If the author is partially granted for APC from other funders: Download Form A (PDF). For author without any grant for APC i.e., no affiliation to an institution/laboratory/industry or affiliation to an institution/laboratory/industry which does not cover APC as an expense: Download Form B (PDF) . - Sends it to:
    • the Secretary of the relevant National Society with a copy to:

    • the general Secretary of EAA This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ,
    • and the Editor in Chief of Acta Acustica This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  2. The National Society: The National Society of the applicant will transmit the request and the information to the EAA General Secretary together with certification of her/his affiliation for at least the last two years.
  3. The EAA: The EAA General Secretary sends the information to the Publisher, with copy to the author.
  4. The Publisher: The Publisher will invoice the corresponding author for the portion of the APC not supported by the EAA.
    The Publisher will invoice the EAA for the remaining portion of the APC.
