With its first special issue on “Auditory models: from binaural processing to multimodal cognition”, Acta Acustica moves from open access to open science

Acta Acustica, the journal of the European Acoustics Association (EAA), opens its first special issue since its relaunch as an open access journal in January 2020. Editors are seeking submissions on the topic of “Auditory models: from binaural processing to multimodal cognition”. The deadline for submissions is March 2021. Articles will be published as soon as they are available.
According to the scope, “In this special issue, we present a collection of recent advances in research on conceptual and computational auditory models with a particular focus on spatial hearing. The computational models will be collected in the auditory modeling toolbox (AMT), setting a baseline of reproducible results for future research in the field. However, also contributions proposing and reviewing conceptual models will be part of the special issue, extending the horizon of auditory models ranging from binaural processing to multimodal cognition.”
Authors who have developed a computational model are therefore encouraged to submit their code to the AMT (an open repository) under an open source license in accordance with the recommendations set out in Acta Acustica’s Data Policy. This policy encourages authors to share their data and code to open access repositories under FAIR data principles.

Relevant papers will be considered and reviewed by a distinguished team of international experts led by the Guest Editors:
