Acta Acustica, the official journal of the European Acoustics Association (EAA), completed its first year as a fully open access publication at the end of 2020. We were pleased to learn more about the ethos of the journal in discussion with Univ.-Prof. Dr. techn. Dr. h.c. Manfred Kaltenbacher (Editor-in-Chief) and Prof. Jean Kergomard (Co-Editor in Chief at the time and now Consulting Editor). They kindly took the time to answer some of our questions about publishing in the journal, and the future of Acta Acustica.
Prof. Kergomard worked tirelessly to re-launch the journal in gold open access in January 2020 under the new title Acta Acustica. EDP Sciences wishes to thank him for his strong support throughout 2020 and the early successes achieved by the new title.
Dr. Kaltenbacher joined him as co-Editor-in-Chief in May 2020, and, from the 1st of January 2021, he is the sole Editor-in-Chief of Acta Acustica.
